Mary's tenure on the Winchester Planning Board has been marked by significant contributions such as developing the Town Center Initiative and zoning reform. Her active involvement in the station renovation, backed by the Mass Smart Growth Alliance and the Barr Foundation, paved the way for sustainable urban growth in the town center.

Her efforts were also instrumental in establishing the Winchester Cultural District and Managing Partnership, reflecting her deep commitment to maintaining cultural vibrancy. As part of the Arthur Griffin Foundation's Board of Trustees, she coordinated Winchester's first outdoor public photography installation, demonstrating her unwavering dedication to cultural and historical preservation.
